ble after Alvar Aalto 1930s Walnut Sunburst Rare, Artek 60
-details-
Rare 30s\40s table after Alvar Aalto, 1933.
This is often attributed to having been made in Finland and distributed by Finmar.
Created by the designer and architect Alvar Aalto (Finnish, 1898–1976) in the early 1930s, the Stool 60 was an experiment in Functionalism and the International Style, design movements that emphasised a minimalist, utilitarian, and efficient aesthetic.
I think this table is in the style of this famous design.
Finnish designer and architect Alvar Aalto, however, together with his wife Aino, advanced the notion that human emotion and natural forms could be used as a source of organic architecture and design while also remaining rationally and structurally modern.
Measures:
Notes:
In good structural condition, with aged patina which has been cleaned, re-oiled and lightly sanded.
The legs haven some patina and scratches with some of the original finish worn away, we have cleaned and re-oiled this so please review photos.
There is no denying that the top is worn but it still looks very beautiful and we have aimed to restore this leaving some patina.
