VINTAGE SPACE-AGE TOWELS RACK STAND BY MAKIO HASUIKE FOR GEDY ITALY, 1970S
Gedy cream towel rack design Makio Hasuike.
Made in Italy.
A minimalist sculptural design towel rack in cream powder coated steel
Created in 1977, it is modern, minimalist, futuristic and very useful.
Tubular steel, ABS plastic, rotating towel hooks and fixed top hooks.
It will be shipped disassembled.

Makio Hasuike is an acclaimed Japanese designer who designed for Gedy Italy. He is the founder of Makio Hasuike & Co, a company of industrial designers based in Italy.
The Japanese designer attended the University of Arts of Tokyo but then moved to Milan in 1963. In 1968 he establishes his studio. The practice now works across product design, exhibitions, graphic design and architecture.

ABS plastic - Instead of burning, thermoplastics like ABS liquefy, which allows them to be easily injection moulded and then subsequently recycled.

very good overall vintage condition
-plastic is a shade darker than original production colour
- the "arms" and the vertical part are clean and in excellent condition, the plastic is shiny - ends of arms have some light marks
- the base has small traces of use on the plastic, only visible when it is directed towards a light source and two more obvious marks - aee photos
No crackin
Considering its age, this object has remained in excellent condition, the colour change is universal
Will be dis-assembled for shipping ** please note** screws back together easily
