1969 Coil Work Signed Studio Pottery Vase

A rare signed possible unique studio pottery vase in a retro modernist style marked 'MCG 69', Artist as yet unknown.
This is a handmade unique piece, made using the cowlick technique to form an onion or gourd shaped vessel. Glazed with a satin off white glaze with an ombré soft grey towards the base finished with a hand-painted abstract repeat geo pattern.
A modern curved shape with funnel neck, purposefully crafted so you can see the coilwork.
Made from terracotta orange clay and t has some weight to it and shows obvious charming signs of being handmade.
Sourced in the Western Lake District.

some nibbles / blobbing to rim formed in production
